Originally the school room stretched high up into the rafters, which would have given it considerable acoustics for singing hymns and shouting at pupils!
Yet it would have been freezing cold, as there was originally one old cast iron stove in the fireplace for the entire building. In the 1960’s a second floor was added.
The interiors are painted Calamine by Farrow & Ball, a deeply nostalgic colour, calming & warm in the sunshine. The original latticed windows have been preserved & for the windows that did not have any covering replicas were handmade to match. The downstairs windows & patio doors all have botanical/plantation shutters & roman blinds.
Under floor heating throughout. The fireplace has a new large wood burning stove in position now. The TV is disguised as a mirror above the fireplace! A large modular sofa surrounds the fireplace & coffee table.
